If you log into Ychat and refresh the page you should find a new icon in the bottom right corner. It's the character icon you'll recognise from the Home Menu and if you click it you will see a list of your character profiles. Click on one and it will update your /nick and rather than the usual (parentheses) around your name you will get [square brackets] instead. Now whenever someone views the character list in your profile or goes to your character list directly your "active character" is highlighted. The chat will remember your active character the next time you log in.

You can now also access the chooser from your user drop-down menu. New links also include Edit Profile and Add Character.

Other users' drop down menus now contain a Private Message link that lets you compose a message through the Post Office.

Some folks are having "trouble" returning to their regular user names.

It is a feature that your active character is remembered the next time you log into the chat (if you have one selected)

HOWEVER

The chat then thinks that this is your regular username, and using /return will change your nick to your active character's name. Using /nick (whatever) will put parentheses around your regular username.

CONFUSING? A LITTLE.

The solution is simpler than you might think. Open your character chooser and select None - you will be returned to your regular username!

OK I can see this is going to be more confusion for some people than it's worth so from now on when you log into the chat your currently active character is forgotten and must be re-set.

I don't see what is so hard about it, it was quite easy to figure out. I love it!

There is now a "Surprise Me (Random)" option for those with two or more characters which will randomly select one for you.

The eyeball icons next to your character profiles in the chooser provide a quick way to see what other users see when they view that character's profile. Click the edit icon to make changes before or while in-character.
